“Through Jesus We Receive The Promise Of The Spirit”

Galatians 3:10-14

10)       For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

11)       But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

12)       And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.

13)       Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

14)       That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Preface

T

o this point, we have lived largely a fictitious salvation that we have found not to work. As time has progressed and the people of God have found themselves unable to meet His requirements, an elaborate “game” has been developed. We continue to do as we’ve always done, with no evidence of “change.” Now that we know that this is not acceptable, our hope is that God will be “lenient,” “blind” or just simply a “fool” and allow us “in” no matter how we have lived.

We cannot escape the fact that salvation is the “absence of self” One thing that should make it clear to us that living saved will be done only through Jesus is the fact that all that the human being does is about self This makes it necessary for the presence of One in our lives Who can deliver us from ourselves.

Main Thought

The promise of Jesus is delivered to us through faith—for it is Jesus Who came and Jesus Who gave His life for us. Most churches teach that Jesus gave His life for us and indeed, most of us were taught this before salvation. The question after salvation is “How does this benefit us?”

How is it that the death of one Man, for all time, could free all men from the stain of sin? The answer is that just as the sin of one man could infect all men who would ever be, so the death of the Man Jesus Christ is enough to impute the dcath of sin to all men willing to accept the death of Jesus.

Much of the confusion and inconsistency present in the Church, today, has been caused ignorantly because of a lack of knowledge. You see, the truth of salvation has been missed because Man’s concept of salvation has been based upon and perpetuated by the mind of Man. Only now, with His return so near. have the sincere begun to have “the mystery of godliness” opened to them.

For those sensitive to Him, never has the time been more “ripe” for the reception of truth. There is virtually nothing that the Lord has either not revealed or is not willing to reveal.

With this revelation either comes liberation or condemnation. If one is blessed enough to be operating with clear direction from the Lord, at this point in time he has heard God’s purpose for Man in these Last Days. This man, no doubt at some time expressed a hunger to know and follow the Lord. This man, while being able to have a clear goal, also becomes responsible for the revelation.

We have been a people used to making excuses for ourselves, based upon what we didn’t know or what someone hadn’t told or what someone hadn’t told us. Well, now it appears that the Lord has determined to “pull” those excuses from us by opening Himself to us completely. Therefore, at this point, those of us in this ministry have been blessed to have “all” of God—and “cursed” by becoming responsible for it.

Now that the truth of salvation has been fully revealed, we can finally get some “relief” This relief is of the type that is granted only through one being wholly at peace with his God.

“Peace with God” is impossible outside of sinlessness. The Word of God informs us that only “...he that is dead is freed from sin.”

Part of what makes man prone to sin is his thinking. His thinking is the way that it is because of his mind. Therefore, it is the mind which must be changed from the mind of the flesh, to the mind of the Spirit. You see, as long as we think as human beings, we will do those things common to humans.

In that the human mind is unable to receive anything that is spiritual, Man does what he can to “approximate” salvation. When he finds himself unable to carry it out, he simply begins to profess it and make up his own “rules.” Soon, these rules are “reinforced” by preachers who preach that “nobody’s perfect,” making man feel that he then, is free of the requirement.

In an attempt to make things “easy” on himself, Man, would like to be able to learn something that would make him “better.” You see, what one is “taught” does not necessarily change him, but what he learns does.

If one would receive “the promise(s) of the Spirit” he will have to be liberated from self When one s focus is himself then he will be partial to himself This focus makes it impossible to accept anything from the Lord

The “mystery” of the promises of God is that they can be received by a people not brought into existence until centuries after they were made Why? Because all of God s promises are spiritual—meaning that there are no “natural” components to any of them, so therefore God neither expects nor needs any assistance from us.

The devil is managing to keep many from their rightful “inheritance” in the Lord. As time is “winding down” to His return, he is particularly determined to “divert” the attention of our young people. He has fooled them into believing that their “issue” with being saved is simply a matter of not wanting to dress a certain way or being prohibited from going to certain places. The truth of the matter is that the devil is a liar. There is not legitimate reason for one not to want to be saved. There is no such thing as God “depriving” us. What the enemy would hide from us is that in exchange for our lives, God meets all needs and satisfies in all things.

Those who are young and saved enjoy a distinct advantage over many of us. How? By being able to avoid the certain heartache and disappointment that was not avoided by those of us who grew up outside of salvation.

All of us are being called upon to make choices and declare allegiances. What we are having to face is that the relationship we have “made up” between us and the Lord is not necessarily the relationship that He wants with us. If we really want to be happy and effective in salvation, we will have to embrace all of Jesus. We have nothing to lose and everything to gain, for “through (Him) we receive the promise of the Spirit.” n
