“The Mystery
Of God’s Wisdom
I Corinthians
2:6-10
6)
Howbeit we
speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor
of the princes of this world, that come to nought:
7)
But we speak
the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained
before the world unto our glory:
8)
Which none of
the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have
crucified the Lord of glory.
9)
But as it is
written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart
of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10)
But God hath
revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth
all things, yea, the deep things of God.

t
is a divine principle and fact that the natural wisdom of man will prohibit him
from understanding the things of God. For after all, if understanding could be
obtained outside of the Holy Ghost, there would be no need for salvation, and
God’s Word would be a mockery. Therefore, it is through the Holy Spirit that
Man is given the ability to understand the mysteries of God.
There
is legitimate confusion, today, caused by the fact that not all teach the truth
of God’s Word. This is understandable in that scripture states that the things
of God are “…hidden from the wise and prudent and revealed unto babes.” This is
why it is so necessary for us to become as babes upon entering salvation.
Otherwise, it is hard for “grown” people to receive the word of God.
Particularly
today, the religious community is quite confused as to the issue of Truth. This
is a great mystery. One thing is certain: the only truth is that of God. Much
of the confusion arises from the fact that while many things are “true,” fewer
are “truth.” Without discernment and a knowledge of
the Word of God, many are deceived.
To
be successful with God, we must come to salvation without vestiges of our own
wisdom. This will help us avoid falling into the trap Satan has set: to get Man
(including saints) to follow what someone knows, rather than what God reveals.
You
see, people are confused when one presents himself as if he is knowledgeable of
God and therefore, speaks with authority. Most will believe him without
stopping to check the accuracy of his teaching.
Then
again, because the wisdom of God can conflict with Man’s wisdom, he often
decides not to do what God has said because it will make him “look bad.” If we
are to survive we must stop being concerned with our self-image and start being
concerned with what God says.
Obviously,
the “mystery of God’s wisdom” includes salvation: the baptism in Jesus’ name
and the infilling of the Holy Spirit, as evidenced by speaking in other tongues
as the Spirit gives utterance. Yet, the urgency of this message is being
downplayed in many Apostolic churches.
Being
pushed now is a simple “confession” of salvation. Just saying “I believe” does
not make one saved. Scripture tells us that “faith without works is dead, being
alone.” Therefore, if one has faith that he is saved, God will manifest his
salvation through the Holy Ghost and his confession will be the evidence of
tongues. One thing is certain: if the teaching of tongues with the Holy Ghost
were not of God, it would have disappeared long ago. Once one has experienced
this movement of God in his life, any witnessing, teaching, or preaching he
does short of teaching one to accept the Holy Ghost is a wasted effort.
In
that he, too has been filled with the wisdom of God, the saint of God never as
a reason to complain. Whether we accept this or not, if we
are submitted to God, He is in control of our lives. Any complaining we
do, therefore, is against Him. The sooner we learn that He does not operate by
what we think, feel, or believe, but rather by what He says, the happier and
better off we will be.
As
a “decoder” of the Word, the Holy Ghost supplies all the wisdom necessary to
unlock the mysteries of God. Not only can Man not be saved without Him, but He
can never understand exactly what his existence meant. With this in mind, we
must now entice Man to accept the Holy Spirit, not fight against Him.
This
ministry has been given a charge to keep by God. We are to boldly proclaim what
the Lord God says. Since the Word tells us that we must have the Holy Ghost and
speak in tongues, this is what we must tell the world and what they must do.
Our philosophy: it is better for us to have a “deal” with people than to have
to “answer” to God.
For
too long, the conversation of too many saints has been “what my pastor said,”
“well, I think,” or “here’s how I feel.” God is commanding us to tell people.
“God said! We cannot act as if other people are alright and saved (accepting
their word for it) when we know that they have not done what God requires.
It
is vital you understand that if you are saved, God must control you; and if you
are not saved, you must accept the Holy Ghost so that He might control you. No
matter who you are (pastor or layman) if you are without the Holy Ghost, you
are still in sin! You needn’t be afraid to accept the Holy Ghost for any
reason, for God is able to keep you saved for the rest of your life! He has the
power of Heaven and earth to do it—the only thing He needs is you.
Prayerfully,
we have unraveled some of the “mystery of God’s wisdom.” In His wisdom, he
wants Man filled with the Holy Ghost, and those of us with this wisdom, He
makes responsible for telling others.
