5)
Let your conversation be without
covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I
will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
6)
So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my
helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
7)
Remember them which have the rule over you,
who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the
end of their conversation.
8)
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day,
and for ever.
9)
Be not carried about with divers and strange
doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not
with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.

t is always good to know from where one's help comes. Everybody needs help at one time or another, but many neither knew how nor from Whom to get it. This is a problem when one needs help immediately, for when your life depends on your getting assistance, you don't want to waste time not knowing whom to contact.
So,
imagine, the confusion one must encounter having to go
to the Son for some things, the Father for others and the Holy Ghost for even
more. Such is not true of us. Not only do we have help, we know His name—and
that name is Jesus Christ.
The
Holy Spirit exists in us to carry out the will of the Lord. That will covers all areas and aspects of our lives. Therefore, any
help that we need should come from Him—and Him only.
Though,
today's world puts great stock in self-help groups, "social"
organizations and personal therapy, one can locate help perfect for one's
needs, yet get turned down by those who are offering it.
What
the Lord is not requiring us to do is to guess how we will get help. He makes
it abundantly clear to us and over-extends Himself that we might know that He
is always available to help us. He evens commands us to ask Him for help.
Despite this, the people of God frequently live their lives as if groping in
the dark.
We
go without solutions to many of our problems simply because we do not give the
situation to the Lord. As soon as we would commit it into His hands, it would
be solved; for before we ask, the Lord has already determined how He will
"fix" it.
Jesus
is the only source of help, and because He has helped us, others should be
benefiting from that help. After all, the "fame" of anything is
spread only by others. It is by spreading the Word and acts of the Lord that we
will spread His fame. The problem is that too many are afraid to say positive
things of the Lord because of feeling their personal situation to b e too bad.
However, whatever, is not being accomplished in one's personal life does not
change the "positiveness" of God. If our
situations have not changed, it is simply because we have not accepted change.
Everything that needs to be done has already been done in the mind of God.
The
Lord can be our helper only as we are willing to surrender our lives to Him.
This fact leaves many out of the realm of help because they are not saved and
have no intention of serving God. The harsh reality is that there is no help
outside of
One
of the saddest things is that one can have the Power Source, yet still no
visible benefit of that source. For, feeling "help-less" binds one in
his mind and unless that mind is actually freed, one remains bound. But that
same mind liberates and is the center of change once truth is accepted. You
see, the mind tells us that we need to understand spiritual things before we accept
them. The thought that the devil keeps from us is the remembrance that there
have always been many things around us that we have not understood, yet we
accepted them.
Obviously,
our reluctance to accept the Lord is based on more than just natural caution.
We frequently forget the fact that God has already help
us get to this point. We have our lives, our health, the things that we need
and many of the things that we want. There is nothing in our lives that we can
afford to take for granted.
We
are responsible for providing ourselves with nothing that has been mentioned.
Therefore, it should not be hard to accept the fact that we cannot help
ourselves. In ourselves, we are powerless against the forces of nature,
economics, discrimination—and the devil. But, combined with Jesus Christ, we
are the unstoppable force.
Particularly
today, the troubles of man visited upon him by the devil and allowed by God
merit the strength of Jesus Christ—and nothing and no one else. Everything
outside of Jesus is fruitless and much time is being wasted by saint and sinner
alike on methods that will never work.
Accepting
the "Lord (as) our helper" will also deliver us from complaining.
Fore, by learning and depending on Him we will see that when trouble comes,
complaining is not only unnecessary, but counter-productive.
"The Lord is my helper" needs to be more than just a song in the lives of men. Others need to see that reality that they might become convinced of Him and have an opportunity to save their lives.
