"The Spirit Of Wisdom And Revelation"

Ephesians 1:15-19

15)       Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,

16)       Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;

17)       That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

18)       The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

19)       And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

I

t is the Lord's will for us to have the understanding that only He can give. By receiving salvation, we are given the ability to know all that God would have us to know. However, simply because we have access to knowledge does not mean that it will benefit us. If we are to prosper from it, the Spirit must be consulted about all situations of life. If He is not, we remain confused.

One will know that he has truly progressed in his "quest" for wisdom when he is able to acknowledge and understand that since he belongs to the Lord, whatever comes to him comes through His direction, is allowed to happen. This being the case, if he chooses to have a problem with the situation, he is choosing to have a problem with God. The wise man and the man who loves the Lord will decide that this is not in his best interest and therefore, is best left alone.

As saints and as the people of God, we must stop trying to relate all that happens to us to the flesh. In that we do belong to Him, we are going to have to deal with the fact that things are allowed in our lives that we might be witnesses for Him. We are saved and therefore, we can handle things the unsaved are not equipped to handle. Nothing in the life of a saint of God relates solely to the flesh—everything has a spiritual meaning. This is true even for one not living saved. In fact, it may be even more true, because the Lord will go to even greater lengths to either reclaim him—or condemn him.

Probably more people than we would ever imagine are attempting to "undo" their salvation and since this cannot be done, are the ones who "invent" the "new ways" to sin. You see, once a man is made a spiritual being, he is always a spiritual being. Therefore, when he leaves God, he simply becomes a dead spiritual being.

The Spirit that we possess, being One of ".. wisdom and revelation," knows what we need before we ask and what we will do before we ever realize of what we are capable. This is why one cannot consider himself having been forgiven of a sin he keeps committing or having received a blessing for which he has asked. In the latter instance, the man of God, the saints, neighbors and friends can pray for you as often as you ask, but without a vessel willing to line-up with the will of God, their prayers are in vain.

Particularly in the these last days, it is "flirting with folly" to spend all one's time on oneself and praying to get something for oneself. The one who "makes it" in these perilous times will be the one who learns to praise Him not only for what He has done for him personally, but for what He has done for all who will worship Him.

We must never forget that all that is done in salvation is happening through the power of God. This means were there anything to present itself which would not be beneficial to us, it would not be allowed to happen. This also means that despite the problem, headaches and challenges coming to one belonging to the elect of God, There is no one to blame for anything that comes our way—but God. If you are bold enough to challenge Him—you go right ahead.

There is no way to change this outlook or any other unless one is willing to change his thinking. Lest one believe otherwise, one born unto God can never use his human mind to attempt to see and understand truth, for through the eyes of the human mind, nothing will appear as it really is. Now, can we see why we are constantly admonished to "Praise God, anyhow"!

Though many of the redeemed are constantly denying His power, that Power that sees the end from the beginning and has every hair on our heads numbered still heals and delivers all who are not ashamed to ask and all who are willing to accept. That Power who allows the situation is still the only One Who can and will deliver from it!
