1)
And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not
with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto
you the testimony of God.
2)
For I determined not to know any thing among
you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
3)
And I was with you in weakness, and in fear,
and in much trembling.
4)
And my speech and my preaching was not with
enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of
power:
5)
That your faith should not stand in the
wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

When
people recognize that they have a problem, they will try to come up with a
solution. Trying to solve your problem will never get you to a solution. You
must understand the principles of God. God has not left it up to us to come up
with a solution. Man's solution is always short of God's expectation.
Our
faith is not to stand in what we, as men, have to say, think, feel, believe,
but it must stand in the power, or authority of God. In order to operate in the
authority of God, you must know what the Word of God says concerning the
situation for this is where the power lies. Power
comes not from how loud or often we pray, nor how many days we fast. Power is
in acceptance of the Word of God. Power, in the believer, is manifested through
his acceptance of the Word of God.
Even though we can hear what to do, when a situation arises, we are still puzzled on how to perform that which we hear. We continue to deal with the same kind of problems the same way when doing so is not the solution. God has a plan and God is not going to change His plan. Even though we may have a plan as well, we have no guarantee that ours will ever work. Too often, we think that God is not hearing our prayer for we do not get the answer we prefer.
